XD TRONICS ("we", "our", "us") operates xdtronics.com and store.xdtronics.com. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We keep this simple because we're engineers, not lawyers.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact enquiries: name, email address, and any project details you include when you email us or fill in a contact form.
- Store orders: name, shipping address, email, and payment information. Payment details are processed by our payment provider (PayPal) and we never store card numbers.
- Newsletter sign-ups: email address only.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referral source. Collected via privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-site tracking).
- Technical data: browser type, device type, IP address (anonymised after 24 hours).
2. How we use your data
- To reply to your enquiry or process your order.
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for (unsubscribe any time).
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ad targeting. We do not share your information with third parties except where necessary to operate the business (payment processor, email delivery, hosting).
3. Third-party services
- PayPal: payment processing for store orders.
- Resend: transactional and newsletter email delivery.
- Cloudflare: CDN, DNS, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may log request metadata per their own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: fonts loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log requests per their privacy policy. We plan to self-host fonts in a future update.
4. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in to the store. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels. Analytics uses local storage rather than cookies where possible.
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Export your data in a portable format.

6. Data retention
Order records are kept for 7 years for accounting purposes. Contact enquiries are deleted after 2 years if no ongoing relationship exists. Newsletter lists are purged when you unsubscribe.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of our services after a change constitutes acceptance.
